CDA Biographies for Spring 2015

Roy Yabut,

Team Leader

I am a 5th year Bioengineering major with hopes of going into the Navy to obtain a medical degree. I have experience in three fields: service, film, and medical. I feel the past features of my life match with the undertakings of team CDA. I would like to gain more experience in a larger scale and I think this team will provide me with that.

Matthew Moran,

Deputy Leader

I am a fourth year mechanical engineer at the University of California, Merced. I chose to become Deputy Leader mainly to grow as a leader and experience more ways to work as a team. I expect to also obtain some experience in technical skills that will better myself for future roles to come.

Patrice Smith,

Communication Officer

My name is Patrice Smith and I am currently a fifth year Earth System Science student.I joined the CDA group because I feel like I will be a great asset to community development. Being a Merced native, I would love to see the city grow as a community and feel that our teamcan help lead Merced County on the right path for continual development.

Monica Barbadillo,

Intellectual Property Officer

I joined team CDA with the hope of engaging in a team project that could make a big difference in the Merced Community. With my current knowledge in the Computer Science field, I feel I could be a great help to this project while also gaining experience with a mapping software new to me (ARCGIS).

Evan Diaz,

Inventory & Financial Officer

I am a first year mechanical engineering student and I am the Inventory and Finance Officer (IFO) for CDA. I joined Engineering Service Learning to gain experience working on real world problems and meeting future colleagues and business partners. I hope I can make a positive impact on team CDA and the community.

Shan Fernando,

Webmaster

I am a 5th year Computer Science and Engineering student at UC Merced. I joind CDA to learn ArcGIS which will benefit me later in my career. I am also eager to gain team experience as well as communication skills during my last semester.

Christopher Cruz,

Student Advisory Council Officer

My name is Christopher Cruz and I am currently a 3rd year bioengineer.  I joined the Community Development Analytics (CDA) team to improve my professional side of engineering as well as to give back to the city of Merced.  I hope to get our name out there in the community so that Merced can continue to grow at an exponential rate and become known throughout the country.

Hello, my name is Tam Le, I am currently a 5th year Computer Science Engineering student with a pursuit in a minor for Psychology.  I am entering this course as an aspect to gain community involvement, critical customer communication, and resolving and finishing projects. I hope to gain a lot of experience through working with others on this project during this semester.

Uchechi Akabogu,

My name is Uchechi Akabogu and I am a 4th year Environmental engineering major. I hope to go back to Nigeria and help improve the environment I grew up in. I joined CDA to with hopes on improving my team working experience and be part of a team that could make a big difference in Merced community.
