Brenda Yu Assistant Project Manager Brenda Yu is the Assistant Project Manager for the Campus Drone Project Engineering Service Learning Team. She is a fourth-year double majoring in Human Biology and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. Yu plans to contribute her background in data analytics and marketing to capture the beauty of UC Merced through drone technology. As an intern in the Office of Student Life and CITRIS, Yu is passionate about creatively using graphic design to highlight student events on campus. Currently, she is building her own technology company centered on food informatics while pursuing a career as a medical scientist.

Diego Lopez Intellectual Property Officer Diego Lopez is a third-year Computer Science and Engineering major for the Engineering Service Learning team, the Campus Drone Project, in hopes of better understanding the role of drones in a community setting. Throughout his life, Lopez has been fascinated by the ingenuities of numerous computer applications that define the world of tomorrow. After his time at UC Merced, Lopez anticipates furthering his personal abilities and continuing to work with computer technology with professional associations. He is looking to find a correlation between artificial intelligence and music in the future. |

Celene Cantabrana Communications Officer Celene Cantabrana is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student and the Communications Officer of the Campus Drone Project (CDP’s) Engineering Service Learning Team. As a team member of CDP, Cantabrana aspires to find a more welcoming virtual tour for potential UC Merced Students. Cantabrana interest is in the aerospace industry. Her passion for any space devices led her to join the CDP team. Cantabrana hopes to gain as much skill and knowledge from this project. As a Communications Officer and as a team member, Cantabrana will be exposed to professional work that will help with her future career. |

Erik Perez Procurement and Finance Officer Erik Perez is a fifth-year pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is the Procurement and Finance Officer of the Campus Drone Project (CDP), an Engineering Service Learning team. Erik aims to get hands-on experience while working on the assigned project and develop his work ethic. Being part of this project will give him research experience on the technology that drones can offer to people. He also hopes to develop his public speaking skills when communicating with his team members. Although his focus is school, he has a strong passion for music and even plays in a band as a percussionist. |

Gerardo Guardado Team Leader Gerardo Guardado is a first-year Mechanical Engineering student and member of the Engineering Service Learning team, the Campus Drone Project. Being a part of the Drone Project gives him the possibility to learn more about mechanical engineering when in practice. Drones have always been something that Gerardo has found fascinating due to their mechanisms and precision. In high school, Gerardo was in a leadership role for three years, designing and building robots. Gerardo wants to improve the efficiency of machinery and thus quicken human advancement, as well as be able to design and build machinery at technology companies while working with a team. |

Sasha Jaffarove Team Leader Sasha Jaffarove is a first-year Engineering major at UC Merced and an active member of the Campus Drone Project. Jaffarove joined the Campus Drone Project to use her passion for drones, hands-on experiments, and her fascination with mechanical design, on a real-world problem. Through this project, she hopes to learn more about the specific fields in engineering and the design process as a whole, while contributing to the UC Merced community. After this project, Sasha plans to pursue future engineering projects to help her gain perspective on a possible focus for her major that aligns with her passions. |

Mirra Albisurez Team Member Mirra Albisurez is a first-year Mechanical Engineering student and a team member of the Campus Drone Project Engineering Service Learning team, Albisurez is working towards making campus tours accessible for students internationally who cannot attend the in-person campus tours. Albisurez chose the Campus Drone Project because she is interested in designing a project that involves technical skills. By being part of this project Albisurez hopes to gain experience in the engineering field to expand her knowledge and skills. Albisurez also hopes the Campus Drone Project will help her figure out what specific career she wants to pursue. |

Bill Ayala Team Member Bill Ayala is a first-year Mechanical Engineering student and a team member in the Engineering Service Learning team, Campus Drone Project. Being part of the Campus Drone Project helps him learn new skills and grow as an engineer. Ayala also hopes to learn how to interact with clients and team members. Ayala hails from Southern California, so he believes that a virtual tour is a necessity for prospective students. By joining the Campus Drone Project he hopes to improve the campus tour with his passion of learning new skills. After graduation, Ayala is determined to be a Weapons Engineer to improve our military technology. |

Addison Brenneman Team Member Addison Brenneman is a fifth-year Mechanical Engineering student at UC Merced. He wants to get involved in group projects that will help him acquire the skills needed to advance himself through his professional career. Operating and developing drones is something that not only interests Addison but also can be applied to his profession as well. By becoming a member of the Campus Drone Project through Engineering Service Learning, Addison hopes to apply the knowledge he knows here to potential careers after college. He hopes to be able to develop drones to survey land and possibly even help wildlife data collecting. |

Nicholas Chin Team Member Nicholas Chin is a second-year Computer Science and Engineering student interested in the field of Cybersecurity and Information Technology. Chin is a team member of the Campus Drone Project Engineering Service Learning team, where he is working to provide a new perspective of the UC Merced campus to those interested in the university. Chin is passionate about using both software and hardware to provide a new campus virtual visiting experience for those who may be hundreds or thousands of miles away. Chin hopes to eventually work in the field of cybersecurity and start his own business in the technology sector. |

Francisco Curiel Team Member Francisco Curiel is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student minoring in Applied Mathematics who is interested in working in the aerospace industry. Curiel is a member of the Campus Drone Project Engineering Service Learning team because he would like to discover different applications for unmanned aircraft systems. Through this project, he also hopes to gain more insight into the hardware and software of unmanned aerial vehicles to develop intuitive ways to improve the performance of drones. Curiel is currently working towards becoming a United States Marine Corps Engineering Officer and plans to use the skills and knowledge gained from various aviation projects into his military career. |

Clint Daguplo Team Member Clint Daguplo is a first-year student pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Daguplo is a member of the Engineer Service Learning team, Campus Drone Project, where he works with the visitors center to incorporate drones into campus tours to virtually and physically to showcase the campus. As UC Merced continues to grow, more buildings will be established and campus tours must be improved to include new changes. Daguplo relates the campus expansion to the modern world’s technological achievements which he strongly wants to be a part in and someday be able to contribute his own work. |

Darren Ng Team Member Darren Ng is a first-year Computer Science and Engineering student and a team member of the Engineering Service Learning team, the Campus Drone Project. Though Ng currently studies in Database Design, he shows interest in Aerospace and the physics behind flight. With a background in programming and engineering, Ng is excited to apply his current skills as well as obtain new ones. With a will to help students in the struggle of college decisions, The Campus Drone Project which moves toward advancing college tours seemed the right choice. Ng strives to use this experience to learn and benefit himself in future teams. |

Eric Young Team Member Eric Young is a fifth-year Mechanical Engineering student pursuing a career in parts manufacturing. Young is a member of the Engineering Service Learning team, Campus Drone Project, and is working on improvements in the UI of the future drone tours of the UC Merced campus. He is interested in the development of drones and how the industry can improve data collection in existing fields. Young joined the Campus Drone Project team to gain practical knowledge and experience in drone technology. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career as a quality assurance/quality control engineer in the Bay Area. |
