Instructional Lab I Team for Spring 2015

Jesus Perez, Team Leader

I am a sophomore studying computer science. This will be my second semester working on this project. I am currently working as a laboratory assistant at the engineering labs here at UC Merced. I have experience in CAD software, 3d printing, and programming in various languages. My interests include computers, music, and automobiles. I look forward to making a positive impact in the strength of materials lab.

Moses Chun, Deputy Team Leader, Intellectual Property Officer

I’m a 3rd year studying Materials Science and Engineering from Fullerton, California. When I’m not studying, I enjoy writing, playing music, and being in the outdoors. After my first year of college, I spent a summer in the Yosemite Leadership Program Internship. There I got to live and work in an administration office. It’s odd but I learned a lot even as an engineering major in an office. I learned never to box myself in by my interests or my field of study. Now, I work for Yosemite National Park.

Jessica Gray, Communications Officer

My name is Jessica Gray and I am the Communications Officer for the Instructional Learning Team. This is my second semester on this project. Last semester I really enjoyed working on this project. I hope to utilize everything I have gained from UC Merced to help better the learning experience for the labs. When I have spare time I enjoy playing video games, reading manga, arts, and sports.

Brian SarracinoAguilera, Chair of Student Advisory Committee

Brian is in his final semester at UC Merced. His pressing research interests are in computational biology, climate modeling, numerical and functional analysis, materials modeling on multiple scales and materials simulations. In his spare time he enjoys catching up with friends, visiting family, cooking, watching the Big Bang Theory, and sleeping. Brian is working on a startup company and his favorite operating system is Ubuntu 14.04.

Elizabeth Arikawa, Webmaster

I am a second year computer science major. Taking a computer science class in high school led me to choose this major. While this is my first semester working on this project, I am excited to be a part of this team. I have no previous experience with MATLAB but I am interested in learning more. My interests include sleeping, reading and watching cat videos.

Ian Burns, Inventory and Finance Officer

am beginning the second semester of my freshman year at UC Merced majoring as a mechanical engineering major. I am from Long Beach, California and enjoy playing the cello, listening to music, and watching movies. My decision to become a mechanical engineer was greatly influenced by my brother and father who consistently discuss their work with me and raised my interest in this field. I am excited to be a part of this project and have responsibilities to fulfill as part of a team
