The Get S.E.T. Engineering Service Learning Team is working with the teachers and administrators at Merced County Office of Education to find solutions to problems that students face in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) classes.
Currently, the team is working on building an interactive model that will help sixth-grade students at Chenoweth Elementary School understand the interaction between plate tectonics movements and resulting earthquake occurrences. The interactive model will allow the students to engage creatively and analytically with it to get a deeper understanding of the concept of plate tectonics and large-scale system interactions.
