The goal of this project was to enhance the discoverability and usability of the UC Merced Engineering Service Learning program website by the end of the semester. A well-structured and user-friendly website is essential for informing students, faculty, and potential partners about ongoing projects, student involvement, and opportunities for engagement. The updated website aims to reflect the program’s impact, streamline navigation, and align with UC Merced’s web design standards.
Our team collaborated closely with the project liaison and faculty advisor to review the existing site structure and content. We removed outdated pages, added new and relevant sections, and reorganized the layout for a more intuitive user experience. Emphasis was placed on improving accessibility, and documenting the website’s structure for future maintenance. We conducted multiple quality assurance checks and integrated liaison feedback through regular meetings. In the final weeks, the team focused on refining the site’s visual appearance and drafting a standard operating procedure document to guide future updates.
