Engineers for a Sustainable World

Creating an Interactive Garden for our Community

The Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) Engineering Service Learning team develops sustain-able solutions that can be applied to our university and beyond. ESW partnered with Kiva, a micro finance firm focused on micro-loans for developing economies. To promote small business growth in the region, ESW teamed up with Bobcat Brewery, a local Merced business, to review and provide suggestions to improve the sustainability of their brewing operations.

Project Status

The ESW team is currently working towards their community garden proposal for the UC Merced sustainability department, which includes flooring, fencing, education components, and shading. A first draft of the proposal will be completed by October 24 and available for review by project stakeholders.
