GIS Concepts and Essentials
This workshop, provided by UC Merced’s new Spatial Analysis and Research Center (SpARC) will review the concepts of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and how spatial analysis can be applied to engineering projects. Students are provided an overview of software, hardware, data and methods used for spatial analysis and will work on a brief hands-on exercise.

The program helps prepare UC Merced students for future careers while engaging them in creative and practical endeavors and enhancing their opportunities to serve others.
The Skill Session Workshop Series provides participants with personal instruction to help develop practical, hands-on skills that prepare them for current projects and their future careers.
