Project Overview
In partnership with the Merced County Office of Education and local educators, Team Get S.E.T. (Science, Engineering, Technology) Engineering Service Learning team works to support local educators in their goal improving learning for K-12 students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. Get S.E.T. focuses on creating innovative and interactive lesson plans for instructors to utilize in their classrooms. By partnering with teachers to develop and assess these lesson plans, Get S.E.T. is able to ensure that activities meet learning outcomes, and improve student understanding of complex topics.
Get S.E.T. is broken up into 4 separate sub-team to focus on specific age groups. Get S.E.T. has a sub-team which focuses on elementary, middle, and high school activities, each with unique challenges that are associated with each demographic. Additionally, there is a demonstration sub-team which focuses on larger exhibition scale activities to attract attention to the STEM fields. To learn more about Get S.E.T.'s mission please go here.
